Living in Springfield, NJ

Springfield Township sits where I-78 and Route 22 meet, home to the famous Baltusrol Golf Club and quiet residential streets just west of Union.

Springfield Township covers about five square miles on the northern edge of Union County, with 17,178 residents at the 2020 Census. It was formed in 1794 and is best known nationally as the home of Baltusrol Golf Club.

It is a highway town in the best sense: I-78, Route 22, Route 24 and Route 124 all pass through, so Newark, the airport and the rest of North Jersey are an easy drive, while most of the township is quiet residential streets and parkland.

The Springfield Community Pool is a township facility run with the Summit Area YMCA.
